We need your urgent help! Our Grey-headed flying-foxes babies are perishing at an alarming rate with more deaths likely over the forthcoming weeks due to the expected heat wave.

Due to the drought our flying-foxes have been stressed due to the continuing food shortage. Mass deaths have occurred in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.

Unfortunately the drought has meant that the eucalypts are not producing enough nectar, if at all and in some cases, there is no blossom at all.

With the lack of suitable flood sources, the flying-foxes appear to be headed south in search of food and trying to escape the many bush fires affecting the eastern seaboard.

This event is devastating as this generation of flying-foxes would have helped to pollinate the nearly 4 Million hectares burned or currently burning in NSW and Queensland.

It seriously pains our heart. We were put on this planet to help our flying foxes and we can’t believe what is happening to them. Our whole lives have been dedicated to them and we have never seen it as bas as this..

In our area alone there have been an estimated 5,000 deaths. It is just so sad.

We need to do something about it and urgently.

We need to initially raise $50,000.

Our creche season will be very busy as we will have approx. 300 to release back into the wild. As you can imagine the fruit costs, the supplements and the medications all add up.
